Kendra Scott Gives Back to Desert Vista High School

My lovely hubby is the Director of Bands for Desert Vista High School and an all around great guy. I can say that because I am his wife and number one fan! He was approached last fall to help purchase instruments for a school that was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Josh’s instincts were to not only help get them started, but to completely replace ALL the items lost in the storm. Knowing this was a HUGE financial commitment he reached out to other organizations that could help partner and give to those students who really need music in their lives right now. In comes Kendra Scott and her fabulous-ness. I have had a relationship with Kendra Scott for awhile now. And I know she believes, wholeheartedly in giving back. So the two causes combined brought us this great opportunity. Please join us Sunday, leave feeling good and looking fabulous!

With Valentines Day JUST around the corner it can be a little overwhelming thinking of the perfect gift or sentimental surprise for the significant other in your life. Whether it be a candle lite dinner, a night on the town, or ice cream without the kids, it is important to make sure that your reflection of love is as unique as the one you love. With that being said, here are 3 tips to make your Valentines Day more meaningful.

#1 Be unpredictable! Don’t become complacent with your date nights, keep them guessing. I’ve often heard it said if you’re comfortable than you’re not growing, my personal belief is that this extends to relationships too.

#2 Be thoughtful! Don’t just go to the store buy the first thing that you see and call it a day, put some actual thought into it. What are their interests? What makes them tick? What memories do you share together? What was something that was important to them growing up? Incorporate these things into your planning. The sentimental value will far out weigh the cost of any gift you could ever buy.

#3 Be prepared! We’re all busy, we get it. But isn’t it ironic that the people we love the most are often the ones that suffer at the hand of our procrastination? Come on guys, don’t wait to the very last minute. Set aside an hour or two to do something nice for the person who is always there for you.
